BCS Library & Learning Commons

One of the best gifts anyone can give a child is the love of books and reading.  Children who read at home, or are read to, have a head start on reading success in school.  I hope that you will encourage your child to read wonderful books this year.

The Learning Commons / Library combines old and new technologies to create an integrated learning center.  All students at Beiseker Community School are encouraged to read on a daily basis!  All students will be encouraged to sign out books appropriate to their reading level for their daily reading time.  Thank you for encouraging your child to read and for supporting your child’s reading progress.

Philosophy

  • Everyone who uses the Library / Learning Commons will be welcomed, valued and respected.
  • Everyone is responsible for using the library in a respectful manner that gives consideration to other users, equipment and materials.
  • Rules are in place in order to make the user experience rich and meaningful for everyone.  Rules will be applied fairly to all.
  • Due to staffing and budget constraints, scheduled classes or groups will be given first consideration over individuals using the library.  If problems arise, individuals may be asked to temporarily leave the library if they are disrupting a scheduled class or group.
  • If problems arise, action taken will be in keeping with the severity of the problem.
  • Each day is viewed as a new beginning and each circumstance as an opportunity for growth and learning.
