Guidance Counsellor

Ms. Andrea Wiens is the Guidance Counsellor at Beiseker Community School. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, a Bachelor of Education teaching degree, as well as a Masters degree in Counselling Psychology. She is a Registered Psychologist in Alberta.

Her role at the school has an emphasis on providing social-emotional support to students from Grades 7 to 12, mostly on an individual appointment basis. Additionally, she supports high school students apply for post-secondary (e.g., College, University, Technical Schools) and manage post high-school career planning. She also delivers teaching instruction at various grade levels in the school.

For the 2021-2022 school year, she will also be providing Learning Support at the High School level.

Ms. Wiens works as part of a comprehensive Student Support Team that includes the Child Development Advisor (Ms. Lynita Ludwig), Academic Advisor (Ms. CJ O'Handley), and Learning Support (Ms. Mary Pieterse) to deliver academic and emotional support to students, ensuring success at school.
