Council and Fundraising Society Information

School (Parent) Council

The BCS Council (BCSC) is a structured organization whose membership is composed of parents, school administration, staff members and community members. Parents & Guardians of current students are welcome to actively engage in monthly meetings where they work to effectively support and enhance student learning; to discuss school issues, provide advice on policy and procedures, and support school programs and special events.

Meetings are usually no more than 90 minutes and are held on the third Tuesday of the month throughout the school year @ 7pm.

All parents/guardians who attend have voting rights on decisions/initiatives which are being discussed/implemented and are not required to hold an Executive position in order to do so.

Our purpose is to support the school community, and offer guidance by providing a voice for parents which will benefit all students.

BCS' Fundraising Society

The BCSC would like to express our appreciation to the Beiseker Community School Advisory Association (aka BCSAA, Friends of Society) for all their support each and every year.

This group of parent volunteers sponsors and provides financial support outside of the education budget for school field trips, special activities for students, school equipment, and guest speakers.  In order to maintain the Society's status and AGLC Casino eligibility, an Executive Board of parents is required, and 15 voting members.

One of the main fundraising activities of our BCSAA is participating in an AGLC Casino.  It is of vital importance that we take advantage of this opportunity, as it only comes about once every 2-3 years.  On average, we receive $45,000 in gaming proceeds for our efforts, which generally allows approximately $15,000 of funding requests to be approved each year, until the next Casino is assigned.

Our next Casino opportunity is April 20 & 21, 2024.

We are using Sign-up Genius to organize this years schedule of volunteers.  To access the sign-up, click on the link below:

It is essential that we have approximately 40 adult volunteers to work our Casino dates (2 days and 2 nights). Key Positions in the Casino schedule must be filled by our School Community.
